Council and collections
We sell stickers. Your council runs the trucks.
No. Bin Stickers UK is an independent sticker supplier. We do not run rubbish, recycling, food waste or garden waste collections, and we cannot look up your council account.
No. The council for your address publishes the day, usually as an address search or a waste calendar. We do not publish weekdays or a city-wide calendar. How bin collection days work explains those pages, and bin collection by nation links to the official guidance for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
No. Report a missed bin to your council within the time they allow. This checklist is worth doing first.
Your council. Lid colours, food waste, garden-waste charges and the collection day are not the same everywhere, and one council does not cover a whole city. What your council decides lists what to check on the council website.
No. A sticker repeats a number or waste type you already use. It does not update council records, book a return visit, or replace a damaged bin.
Orafol ORACAL 751C
What the film is, and what the data sheet does not promise on a bin lid.
Wheelie bin stickers, bin number stickers and recycling labels are cut from Orafol ORACAL 751C. It is a high-performance cast PVC film, 60 microns thick, with a permanent solvent adhesive. The face is glossy. Black and white are also available matt. Paper labels are not suitable outdoors.
For vertical outdoor exposure in a Central European climate, with specialist application and proper care, Orafol rates black and white at up to 8 years and colours at up to 7 years. Metallic colours are rated up to 5 years. A wheelie bin is washed, flexed and sometimes knocked over, so treat that as a ceiling, not a promise for every lid. How long bin stickers last covers what shortens the life.
Apply it dry, above 8°C, onto plastic that is clean and dry. Once the film is stuck down, Orafol’s European data sheet rates short-term temperature resistance from −50°C to +120°C on aluminium. That is a film test, not a reason to heat the bin.
Yes. Rinse with a hose and wipe with mild detergent. Do not aim a pressure washer at the edge of the letters, and do not use solvent or abrasive cream on the face of the vinyl. Weatherproof care has the washing notes.

Fitting the sticker
Find the number, pick a flat panel, then press the vinyl down.
Check the lid, the front and the sides of the wheelie bin, including faint moulded digits. If it is missing, your council rates notice or waste page is the official source. We do not look up council records. How to find your bin number.
Yes. Wash and dry the plastic, then squeegee the vinyl down, away from the hinge and wheels. How to apply bin stickers has the steps.
On a flat part of the lid or the front face, where it can be read from the footpath and clear of the hinge, ribs and wheels. Where to label a wheelie bin.
Lift the old vinyl, clean the glue, then apply the new number to bare plastic. Do not stick a new number on top of a peeling one. Replacing a bin number sticker.
Measure the flat panel before you order. Each product shows its sizes in millimetres, with the centimetre equivalent beside them. Measuring for bin stickers and choosing colours.
