Bin collection in Northern Ireland
nidirect says the local council is responsible for collecting and disposing of waste. There are 11 councils. The collection day is on that council’s website, not on a single Northern Ireland calendar.
Bin Stickers UK is an independent sticker supplier. We are not a council or government waste service. Confirm collection days, missed bins and replacement bins on your council's official website.
What the official pages say
nidirect says councils provide a box or bin for recycling, a bin for household waste that goes to landfill, and a bin for garden and food waste. Food waste should not go in the landfill bin, and a council can refuse to empty a landfill bin that contains it.
The same page says to contact the local council to check collection days, and to contact them if a bin is missed from the normal collection.
A replacement bin can be charged for. Colour, frequency and the exact list of recyclables still come from the council that serves the address.
Official sources
These pages are the reference for the notes above. Collection day, public-holiday changes and accepted items should be read there, or on your council’s own waste page.
Other nations
A sticker does not change the collection week. If you are labelling the bin, see where to put the sticker and how collection days work.
