How to find your bin number

How it works

  1. Check the number on your bin. Councils often print or sticker a property number on the lid or side. Where to look for a bin number.
  2. Choose a sticker. Pick a shop design, or design a custom bin number and waste type. Measure the flat panel first.
  3. We cut and post it. You apply the vinyl to a clean, dry, flat part of the bin, clear of the hinge. Where to label a wheelie bin.

Orafol ORACAL 751C vinyl

Every wheelie bin sticker on this site is cut from Orafol ORACAL 751C. It is a high-performance cast PVC film developed for lettering and marking, with a glossy face (matt is available in black and white) and a permanent solvent adhesive that holds on flat and slightly uneven plastic.

The film itself is 60 microns thick, not counting the liner or the adhesive. Apply it dry, above 8°C, onto plastic that is clean and dry. Orafol’s European data sheet rates temperature resistance, once the film is stuck to aluminium, from −50°C to +120°C for short exposure.

For vertical outdoor exposure in a Central European climate, with specialist application and proper care, Orafol rates black and white at up to 8 years and colours at up to 7 years. Metallic colours are rated up to 5 years. A wheelie bin is washed, flexed and sometimes knocked over, so those figures are a ceiling, not a guarantee for every lid. How long bin stickers last covers what shortens that life, and weatherproof care covers washing without lifting the edges.

Common questions

Bin numbers, stickers and what we do not do.

Look on the lid, the front of the bin and the side facing the street. It may be moulded, printed or already a sticker. If you cannot find one, your council rates notice or waste page is the official source. We do not look up council records.

Yes. A wheelie bin lives outside. We cut stickers from Orafol ORACAL 751C, a cast PVC film made for outdoor lettering. Orafol rates black and white at up to 8 years, and colours at up to 7 years, for vertical outdoor exposure in a Central European climate when the film is applied properly and looked after. A bin is washed and flexed, so that rating is a ceiling, not a promise for every lid. Clean the plastic, let it dry, and apply above 8°C to a flat area away from the hinge and wheels.

No. Bin Stickers UK is an independent sticker supplier. For collection day, a missed bin or a replacement bin, contact your local council.
